Draggin The Bumper
Hi all! Damian here! The other day I found myself being asked to do a column for a new RV magazine. I didn’t really know what to write about, for that matter why anyone would want to read it. But, the fact that I was asked at all seemed compliment enough to give it a shot.
I found myself asking, “hey self”, exactly what the heck are we gonna write about?
Nothing really just jumped out at me. Then I thought, write about things you see when you’re out camping, after all thats what we do with these RV things right?
So there it was, a beginning Easy right? You (and I) might have thought so(laugh). Oh, if it were only that easy.
Let me say up front that I’m only human, and may not always be right in my thinking. So if along the way I tweak or offend anyone I assure you it’s not intentional!
After all, all of us involved in this camping-travel hobby of ours have at least one thing in common. We like getting up early, heading down the road, getting flat tires, overheating, fixing electrical problems, cursing the traffic, hoping we packed everything, remembering that we didn’t pack everything, repeatedly “MAPQUEST SUCKS!”, getting stuck behind slow moving trucks, then realizing that the people behind us are probably thinking the same thing, remembering more things we forgot, getting there late, setting up in the dark, remembering even more things we forgot, spraying for bugs and preparing for ants, thinking to ourselves “this awning didn’t seem this hard to put up last time”, and remembering only the next morning that “yes” there were raccoons out here and “YES” they do like digging in our trash bags while we sleep! WHEW! Sorry, got bit carried away. But hey, it’s all the fun we have that makes it all worth while!
So come back and sit a while and we’ll put this thing in the water and see if it floats!
