Gaylord Maxwell, RV icon, passed today

September 20th, 2008 · No Comments

I just received an e-mail message from Gaylord Maxwell’s family:

“Today at 2 pm (PT) our beloved husband, father, grandfather and friend passed. Gaylord Maxwell will always be remembered for his lifetime commitment to family, friends and of course RVing.
His final advice to us all from his last written column (in Motorhome magazine): ‘A reality is that you can have your cake and eat it too.’
Thank you all for touching his life.”

Gaylord was founder of RV Life on Wheel Conference, elected to the RV Heritage Foundation Hall of Fame, author of “Home Sweet Motorhome” and “Fulltiming and longtime contributor to Motorhome magazine.

Gaylord will be missed by thousands, if not millions, of RVers. Our thoughts are with his dearly loved wife, Margie.
