?RV Pooling? to Glacier National Park

June 20th, 2008 · No Comments

Glacier National Park -- Lake McDonald The high price of fuel is making it imperative for us to be even more creative when planning our RV getaways.

In less than a week, a friend and I are “RV Pooling” for a long weekend of exploring Glacier National Park in Montana. In years past, each of us would have taken our own rig, now, at $4.10+ a gallon for regular gasoline, we are pooling our resources–both dollars and camping gear. It will still be an amazing trip.

Glacier has experienced heavy winter and late spring snowfalls. Because of that, there is still limited access to the Going-to-the-Sun Road. (Watch a fascinating video of crews clearing sections of the high mountain Sun Road by clicking here.)

Recreational activities begin for the summer season on June 15, according to the latest news release from the park.
