Darren Houk, 48, grew up camping in Texas in tent trailers, travel trailers, and motor homes. His parents were members of several camper clubs over the years. Almost two decades ago, Darren was the co founder of a of a popular classic car club in Fort Worth so when he and his wife Tanya decided to buy their first RV, the ’47 Kit Kamper brand teardrop they purchased was a natural fit. They enjoyed the looks and comments everywhere they went. People couldn’t believe they actually slept in it. The love of everything vintage has made for some interesting restorations over the years including several antique cars, a vintage houseboat, gas pumps and as well as several campers. The latest is a 14’ “canned ham” style trailer. For now it is a mystery trailer with an unknown manufacturer or birthday.

Darren has worked in the roofing industry for over thirty years, mostly for roofing manufacturers. He’s been an instructor and consultant for roofing, sales and marketing. He has done photo and video production work for trade associations for over ten years. Darren also runs a part time business doing event video production for weddings, car shows and band promotional and music videos.

Darren enjoys playing with vintage campers, cars and boats with Tanya, his wife of twenty one years and his teenage daughter and son. They live in Fort Worth, Texas and will be attending vintage trailer events all over the region so if you know of an event in the southwest let him know and maybe he can check it out.
